Star Signs

After an incredible weekend at the Pyschic Festival in Torquay I have uploaded all the images from the Star Sign Series.

Aires

21st March – 20th April

This sign represents the start of new beginnings and is enthusiastic like the young ram in spring. As the first sign in the zodiac they courageously lead the way and can be inspirational to others. A born leader, Aries will always be found at the top of the company, but are always concerned for others well being too. The colour associated with Aires is red, to keep a cool head this sign sometimes needs to stand back and see the bigger picture. They make incredible parents and are defensive and passionate. It is important for an Aries to have direction and control and not to be afraid to use their forcefulness, for they can at times be scared to follow their heart and become the leader they were made to be.

Taurus

21st April– 21st May

Taureans are hard workers, patient and kind. They are reliable and warm-hearted, but their main priority is to create a stable home for their family. They have a love of art and music and life’s luxuries such as good food and wine. However they can also be incredibly stubborn and argumentative, fixed in their own opinions they believe to be true. They are the closest sign to the earth, and when they release their mind spiritually they can see a greater beauty and freedom, which cannot be possessed or touched, only enjoyed. Away from work and city life they have the wonderful capacity to enjoy the natural earth in all its splendour and achieve spiritual wholesomeness.

Gemini

21st May – 21st June

Gemini is placed between spring and summer making this a mutable sign and therefore ever changing. The ship in the painting represents Gemini’s need and desire for travel and the swallow is symbolic of the freedom, but love of home they crave. At their feet lies a wand with new growth spurting from its buds, which reflects the creative energies that this sign has. The air blows through their hair - a symbol of the ability to communicate. The two shades of the women are the two sides that can change without warning. Like the vast sea this sign can be calm and serene or dramatic as the waves, but have an incredible depth of emotion that runs deep.

Cancer

22nd June – 22nd July

A true water sign Cancer’s emotions can run deep. They make wonderful homes for their family and are great protectors. Somewhat an enigma to many, those closest to Cancer will see the soft and emphatic side to this sign. In their relationships they are tough but sentimental and very loyal. They can be inspirational to young people and have strong opinions, imagination and beliefs only swayed by those they love and listen to. They have a love of comfort and organisation, which is beneficial to others. Cancer possesses a strong romantic nature, and ruled by the elusive moon has much depth of character hidden to many.

Leo

23rd July – 22nd August

A generous and warm-hearted sign, Leos are always loyal to friends and those they trust and will defend anyone they love with passion and strength to be reckoned with. They are intellectual and creative, powerful and thoughtful, spontaneous and fun, often not concerned as much with money but happiness. They are achievers and leaders and give good advice. If someone crosses them they will feel betrayed and can hold resentment until the issue is confronted. They know exactly what they want from life and like the lion have the strength, mind and will power to do it. Vigorous like their ruling planet the sun, Leos can be domineering but approachable and have strong emotions as powerful as the sea. They have a desire for travel and have a broad open mind.

Virgo

23rd August – 23rd September

Virgo is a true earth sign, in harmony with nature around her Virgo likes to create an ideal home life. Bridging the seasons summer into autumn she is often seen as Queen of the harvest and likened to mother nature. Incredibly hard working Virgos are practical and modest and not afraid to get their hands dirty. They are perhaps the most feminine of the signs being the only one traditionally represented by a woman. Virgos can also be very creative and respect and enjoy the arts. They can however be prone to worry being such perfectionists; even so they have the mind and capacity to achieve their dreams when they fully put their mind to it without giving up. Virgos are often afraid to show their true emotions and will only do so to those they trust.

Libra

23rd September – 23rd October

A highly desirable sign, Libra is considered incredibly laid back, possibly due to its position in the zodiac being placed in September and reaping the rewards of its harvest. Ruled by Venus makes Librans very charming and likable, they always want to please, yet they are also incredibly indecisive. They are at one with the earth and seek balance in all areas of life. A true air sign, Librans are great thinkers, talkers and philosophers and emphatic to all people. Often misunderstood for being hypocritical, Librans just can’t say no and get along with everyone. They can be great carers and teachers, and when it comes to personal relationships they make wonderful, sensual partners and soul mates, they can find it hard to be alone.

Scorpio

23rd October – 22nd November

Scorpios have an incredible presence, their energy is magnetic and they can enchant all those they meet. Friends can be made for life as they have gentle and soft centres to those they let in, however if crossed they will never show their hurt and appear strong and enduring. As a water sign Scorpios have vast rivers of emotions that run very deep. They can make as many enemies as friends and can think too much about a situation. A Scorpio’s symbol is not only a scorpion but an eagle that flies high into the spiritual sky able to see things as a bigger picture and always searching. They are warriors and deep thinkers often creating turbulence and stormy waters in their life by their own means. They enjoy drama and are incredibly hard workers. Complex to those closest to them and intensely passionate Scorpios will dominate and defend to the end.

Sagittarius

23rd November – 21st December

Sagittarius takes her bow and points it to the highest star. They are incredibly fun and charismatic to be around and will have the strength to achieve many things in life. Like the ship in the sea Sagittarius has a strong desire to see the world and travel. They are positive and loyal and can hold strong beliefs; ruled by Jupiter this sign can be rebellious and have the fire within them to go to any lengths for a cause they believe in. With passion for justice Sagittarius has the power to achieve, with honour and modesty.

Capricorn

22nd December – 20th January

Represented by a goat with a fishes tail these signs have the ability to climb the highest mountain often enduring hardship to get there. They are strong people and can seem unemotional, however like the tail of the goat they have the ability to swim through the deepest seas of emotions. They are honest, hard workers and very resourceful and creative. These values coupled with their strong mindset means when others give up they have the capacity to keep going and make things work. Due to this they make great managers but are also wonderful family people, loyal to those they love and patient and kind. Sometimes misunderstood, they can come across as serious but are actually humorous souls, and though they like routine they can be spontaneous and fun to be around.

Aquarius

21st January– 19th February

Aquarius is a very mystical sign. Sometimes retreating deep within them it is hard to find the real Aquarian. Many hide under a vibrant cloak of compelling characters and entertaining alter egos. Being an air sign they are natural communicators, their words pour into the world, yet they are always ready to listen and take on more knowledge. Like the owl, Aquarians can be prone to feeling alone and find most inspiration in the night. They are incredibly independent and ruled by Jupiter they like to rebel against the norm. The magic that pours from the jug of this strong sign is symbolic of their love for music, drama, art and beauty, yet they are also methodical and highly intelligent as represented by the sword. The river is symbolic of the waters that can run very deep in an Aquarian. As they take and listen to the world so do they have much to give back.

Pisces

18th February – 20th March

Pisceans are deeply emotional souls; their element is water, which could not be more fitting to a sign. When a fish swims through water the ebb and flow of everything around them is affected. So in life Pisceans have the ability to affect energies around them and often wear their heart on their sleeve finding it difficult to suppress strong emotions. The two mermaids swimming in opposite directions symbolises the torn feeling a Piscean can feel, never quite knowing what direction to go in. This is partly due to it being a mutable sign placed between winter and spring and therefore not ‘fixed’. This affects Pisces as it does with Gemini so making decisions can be hard. However they are guided by one centre of light binding the two sides of Pisces, ultimately Pisces will follow this – their heart.
