Laura Wall

Laura Wall is a vibrant and contemporary artist based in Devon. Originally from Kent, she moved to Devon in 2001 where the burgeoning art community of the area truly inspired her. Always captivated by art Laura took art GCSE a year early, encouraged by teachers and family she achieved the highest grade possible. By the age of seventeen Laura was exhibiting in galleries across Devon with her portrait series and won numerous awards and competitions.

At eighteen Laura received a scholarship for Aberystwyth University of Wales and achieved a first degree BA Honors in Fine Art and Illustration. Shortly after university Laura received a creative job as an edit assistant at a television company, but after three years she found that she was still too passionate about art to pursue this further, and contrary to convention handed in her notice to pursue a career in the art world.

Following this passion Laura became a full time artist and created the series 'Love at the Seaside' which focuses on a couple at different stages of their life. You will find this endearing couple with their dog featured in many places around the Southwest including reconisable places such as Dartmouth, Falmouth, Salcombe, Port Isaac, Shaldon, Tiegnmouth and Looe. It plays on fun elements used throughout the series which can be found in every painting, such as hidden mice playing in a corner, geese gazing and fisherman Pete cruising by on his boat.

As well as this series you will also encounter 'Goose' and his friends in a number of silly and fun circumstances who have also proved themselves a popular series! Laura is constantly developing these characters, themes and techniques of painting and is soon to launch a new series of floral canvas work. An emerging artist with work exhibiting across the country Laura is developing a world and style entirely of her own.

Solo Exhibition, Open evening Saturday 28th August at Lakeview Country Club, Bodmin

Laura is pleased to announce her first solo exhibition of 'Love at the Seaside' will be held at Lakeview Country Club in Bodmin. This beautiful venue set in the peaceful heart of the countryside compliments her work excellently. On the evening, as well as meeting Laura and discovering the stories behind the art, the restaurant and bar will be open which overlook the fish ponds and gardens of Lakeview, so why not make a night of it and explore what this spectacular venue has to offer.

This is the first time all the originals will be exhibited together, see how the love story weaves it's way across the Devon and Cornish Coast. As well as this signed prints and cards will also be available to buy as a keep sake from your holiday or visit.

Love at Budleigh
